CCT Theatre: Space Mutiny Part 1

September 1st, 2008

To celebrate the upcoming birthday of John Phillip Law (9/7), we’ll be posting daily installments of one of his most dubious efforts, Space Mutiny (1988). With it’s copious use of stock footage (classic Galactica anyone?) and spandex-attired cast, Space Mutiny gives new meaning to the phrase “bargain basement sci-fi schlock”. Die hard fans of MST3K will likely recognize the film from one of the more memorable episodes of the long-running series, though the clips posted here will not feature the witty comments of Mike and the ‘bots. Space Mutiny also includes the star of our are last CCT Theatre feature, none other than Yor himself, Reb Brown. In part one of Space Mutiny, the cackling Cmdr. Kalgan (Law) sabotages the space vessel “Southern Sun” as its crew searches for a new planet to call home.
