One of our absolute favorite Natalie Wood performances is as title character in Inside Daisy Clover(1965). Daisy is plucked from obscurity by studio head Christopher Plummer and turned into America’s favorite musical comedy star. Once she reaches the pinnacle of success, she’s miserable, just as you’d expect from a glossy Hollywood expose like this. Though the film isn’t a musical per se, there are a few songs in the film. Below are rare clips of Natalie’s actual vocals (she was dubbed in the final film).
James Brolin plays the sheriff of a small desert town that is besieged by a devilish vehicle hell-bent on homicide in The Car (1977). If you haven’t yet seen it, do so immediately! You won’t be disappointed.
There is only one Tura Satana and today is her birthay! In the clip below, she discusses working on Astro-Zombies (1968) and Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill! (1965).
Okay, I haven’t seen Island of the Fishmen(1979), but with a title like that and a cast that includes Barbara Bach, Richard Johnson and Joseph Cotten… I am so there! The film (released as Screamers in the U.S.)arrives on DVD later this month, below is the Italian trailer.
Admittedly, I know nothing about the 1989 Indian film Nafrat Ki Aandhi, and I have no clue why they’d include a He-Man musical number, but this is some seriously cuckoo Bollywood insanity.
