The 8 film William Castle Collection arrives on DVD Oct. 20th. Okay, I haven’t seen Island of the Fishmen(1979), but with a title like that and a cast that includes Barbara Bach, Richard Johnson and Joseph Cotten… I am so there! The film (released as Screamers in the U.S.)arrives on DVD later this month, below is the Italian trailer.
No, really. From the director of The Mary Kay Latourneau Story (2000) and Wild Things 2 (2004) comes Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus! This epic stars Deborah Gibson and Lorenzo Lamas. MSvGO comes out on DVD May 19th.
The 1965 Hollywood expose Inside Daisy Clover arrives on DVD Feb. 3rd as part of the box set The Natalie Wood Collection. In the film, Wood plays Daisy Clover, a spunky gal who is turned into a musical comedy star by manipulative studio head Christopher Plummer. Ruth Gordon plays Wood’s equally spunky mom and a young Robert Redford plays a gay heartthrob who woos, then weds Wood. It’s all very serious, the high price of fame, blah, blah, blah… which makes it a must see for lovers of cool cinema trash. Below is the trailer. The second clip is an example of Daisy’s awesome talent with Wood “singing” The Circus is a Wacky World.
Quite possibly the most politically incorrect and sleazy Hollywood movie ever made, Mandingo (1975) comes to DVD June 3rd. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen Susan George as Blanche, the Southern Belle who’s anything but prim and proper. This crazed epic also stars Perry King, James Mason and Ken Norton as the strapping slave that no man or woman can resist.
